How to turn a Pen (part 1)

The first thing obviously, is to choose the style of pen to make.

Then decide on the material….will you use wood..?? or some of the great patterned Polyester Resins that are available.

This time I have chosen some “Hairy Oak”.

The blanks are drilled to take the brass barrel that is glued in before turning.

The blanks, fitted with the barrels are then put onto a mandrel on the wood lathe.
